Chasing Cars

The classics are classics for a reason. It is often hard to duplicate the same kind of quality that was associated with certain vehicles. This is evident because people are always restoring old cars. It almost seems ludicrous to think that 50 and 60 year old vehicles are still running today, but it is true.

The reason that people take so much time restoring older models is because they have quality behind the design. Technology has definitely improved the dashboard in lots of new cars, but the outside of many cars are made with more rubber. The older cars had more metal to brace people for impact. Today airbags are the standard. There are definitely elements that have improved, but classic models still cannot be beat.

It’s hard to hold a candle to the fine parts that were found in the engines and everything else under the hood. People that don’t have classic cars may not know this, but lots of the new cars were not even meant to last a long time. The lighting speed assemblies lines don’t make cars that last; these manufacturers make cars that look good for a couple of years. Older models had more substance.
